Huntsville Police investigating Tuesday shooting at Westlake Apartments

Overnight shooting update

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - UPDATE: The Huntsville Police Department has released additional details from Tuesday night’s shooting near Westlake Apartments.

Officers responded to a 25-year-old gunshot victim that arrived at 10:30 p.m. at the hospital.

The victim stated two men approached him walking on Sparkman Drive. One of the two men shot at the 25-year-old and wounded one of his legs. The two offenders fled the scene.

An hour later, a 38-year-old gunshot victim was found in a unit at Westlake Apartments. His injuries included a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the chest. The victim says he was shot in the parking lot.

Police do not know if these incidents were connected at this time.

ORIGINAL: WAFF 48 was first on the scene to a late night shooting at Westlake Apartments near Sparkman Drive.

Huntsville Police confirm one person was shot and the incident is under investigation. An ambulance left the scene with siren and lights but the condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
