Madison County Commission votes to move Confederate statue
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A Madison County commissioner made a move to relocate the Confederate statue outside the county courthouse.
The debate and vote on the removal resolution.
District 6 Commissioner JesHenry Malone introduced a resolution to move the monument to an area cemetery. Maple Hill Cemetery was mentioned by Commissioner Phil Vandiver in his remarks to the commission.
The resolution was passed by a unanimous voice vote of the commission.
