DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - Decatur and Morgan county officials are held a press briefing at 10 a.m. on Monday.
Guests included Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling, Morgan County Commission Chairman Ray Long and Alabama Department of Public Health Administrator for the Northern District Judy Smith.
Long noted that one courthouse employee has tested positive for COVID-19.
“It was an isolated event and the employee does not work around many people” said Long.
“We are working to notify all of our employees and take the necessary steps to stop the spread.”
Smith said she is preparing for more cases to come to the Morgan county area.
“We need to do what we need to do to protect our communities.”
