HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Huntsville and Madison county officials held a press briefing at noon on Monday.

Crestwood Medical Center’s Dr. Pam Hudson is encouraged by the current status of the fight against the spread of the pandemic.

“Our hospital cases maintain below 15. All is well on the hospital side.”

“All of our hospitals started elective procedures over the weekend.”

“As you all know, there is not an unlimited supply of test so we are being strategic about usage of those materials.”

“In my limited travels, I’m noting people not wearing masks.”

“When we come out, we need to be wearing a mask if we are going to be closer than six feet to people.”

“If you want to upgrade your mask, you can find online the same materials used in N95 masks.”

“Wearing a mask is how we keep our community safe.”

Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong thanked residents doing their parts to keep others safe.

“We appreciate people following the rules and processes that are helping to stop the spread.”

“Madison county is doing its best to limit contact with courts and court operations being limited mostly to online meetings.”
