DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - Morgan county and Decatur updated the latest on the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday.
Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling wanted all residents to know that City Hall is still open.
“We are open by appointment at this time” said Bowling.
Street and Environmental Services Director Rickey Terry noted that normal waste collection schedules are being followed.
“We have more trucks and we are currently able to keep up with the increase in waste at this time.”
“Bag your waste if you can bag it. This helps with the sanitation side for us.”
“We are also still spraying for mosquitoes at this time.”
Morgan County EMA Director Eddie Hicks addressed the current areas his team is focused on at this time.
“I do want to point out that the EMA Office is an all-hazard agency. While we are dealing with COVID-19, we are working on other projects at the same time.”
“We are also dealing with weather. It looks like Thursday between 2 and 5 a.m. could be a period of weather. Citizens need to be aware if a watch or a warning comes in the middle of the night.”
