Storms possible overnight

Widespread showers and thunderstorms will fill the Tennessee Valley through the overnight hours into early Friday morning. By sunrise, the bulk of the rain will be farther east with scattered light showers remaining.

The cold front will move through during the morning hours, leaving cooler and drier air in the area.

Near an inch of rain is expected tonight. Winds will be strong tonight, gusting around 30 mph. The wind direction shifts tomorrow to a northerly flow, and cooler and drier air rushes in behind the cold front.

A few showers are expected for Friday afternoon, and this weekend looks wet with periods of rain. Showers will be on and off through the next 10 days. Temperatures will be on the warm side, for highs and lows. Spring officially begins next Thursday, but it will already feel like it with highs in the 60s and 70s.
