DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) - A state trooper’s car was hit late Sunday night, causing I-59 South to be shut down for some time.

It happened near mile marker 235.

The trooper was already working another wreck when it happened.

The state trooper was not hurt, but the driver of the car was airlifted from the scene.

We’re still waiting on an update on that person’s condition.
