Bond denied for man charged with murdering Huntsville police officer

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The man accused of shooting and killing a Huntsville STAC officer will stay in jail.

A judge denied bond for LaJeromeny Brown Tuesday.

Brown is accused of shooting and killing Billy Clardy III during a drug investigation in December.

Brown is charged with capital murder. His case is headed to a grand jury.

State attorneys are asking for the death penalty if Brown is convicted.

No trial date has been set.
