Madison County noise ordinance in effect

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) - Madison County’s noise ordinance went into effect Wednesday.

The ordinance says you cannot exceed 85 decibels during the day. That’s roughly as loud as your lawnmower.

At night, that drops to 75 decibels. That’s about as loud as your vacuum cleaner.

There are a few exceptions, including fireworks on holidays, hunting and aircraft.
