LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) - The National Weather Service now confirms that a small tornado hit Limestone County Sunday night.

The EF0 touched down southwest of Athens about 0.3 miles west of the intersection of Zelner Road and Ripley Road.

The storms left damage, but no one was hurt.

Survey teams say the tornado damaged trees, a metal barn roof along Bell Road, then uplifted an attached roof on a small home farther north east. The tornado produced mainly roof and window damage in a mobile home park around Blackburn Road and Ham Road.

One mobile home was pushed back about six feet, detaching the home from an awning and cement parking pad.

Other buildings in the path sustained damage, including metal signs at a Chevron station at U.S. 72 West and Washington Street.
