Funding cut for Athens-Limestone Public Library

ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) - The Athens City Council has voted to cut the city’s funding for the Athens-Limestone Public Library.

City leaders say they’re concerned about the way money is handled there, according to our news partners at the News Courier.

The Limestone County Commission also voted to lower the library’s funding by $30,000.

Library director Paula Laurita is hoping the Athens City Council will reconsider this decision.
