Boaz police getting new radios

BOAZ, Ala. (WAFF) - Boaz police just got a nearly $50,000 grant.

The money will go toward making sure all officers have enough radios to communicate effectively.

Chief Josh Gaskin says his department, the Arab Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office were all awarded this grant from Homeland Security.

He said council members formally accepted the grant Monday night, and he hopes to have ordered the new radios by the end of this year.
