West Madison Elementary School keeping name after pre-K conversion

MADISON, Ala. (WAFF) - School board members have approved the current West Madison Elementary School building to keep the name “West Madison” when it becomes a pre-K center.

The new elementary that replaces the pre-K will get a new name guided by a committee.

The new elementary school and repurposing of the existing West Madison Elementary into a pre-K were decided many months ago as part of the superintendent’s strategic plan.

Both the new elementary school and converted pre-K are expected to open in August 2021.
