ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) - A man scheduled for trial Monday has pleaded guilty.
Michael Putman was supposed to go on trial for attempted murder but entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge of first-degree burglary.
He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Putman had been charged in connection to a June 2018 shooting in the Canebrake subdivision in Athens.
Two other suspects, Samantha Davis and Stanley Birdsong, are also charged in the case.
