MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - The search is on to find pictures of fallen heroes of the Vietnam War who were from Alabama.
The efforts are part of the Wall of Faces project to keep the memories of those who fought in the Vietnam War alive. The goal is to obtain a photo of every single Fallen Hero whose names are etched on The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
There were 1,210 young men who died in Vietnam who were from Alabama. Right now volunteers like Janna Hoehn, who lives in Hawaii, are part of the volunteer team searching for the last 24 more photos needed for our state. They are asking for the public’s help to assist them.
“These young men are important. They deserve our honor, respect, and to have a picture. We are making sure they are not forgotten. We are hoping family friends, or classmates that may have gone to school with them can help up with a photograph,” said Hoehn.
