(WAFF) - Shower and storm chances will begin to drop by Thursday afternoon. Expect decreasing clouds during the afternoon with highs in the lower to middle 80s.
Friday will be hot and muggy with highs near 90. We expect the same weather for Saturday. Make sure you don’t forget the sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
Sunday into Monday we could see a few strong thunderstorms fire up along a boundary that will slowly move across the Tennessee Valley. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s but it will feel close to 90 with the increased humidity. Lightning and gusty winds will be the primary threat Sunday and Monday.
The heat builds across the area late next week with several back to back days near 90.
