Birmingham sisters celebrate 100th, 98th birthdays

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - As Mother’s Day celebrations continued all over the Magic City, a very special event in north Birmingham drew a big crowd.

Two Birmingham sisters celebrated their 100th and 98th birthdays Sunday.

Mrs. Fannie Braxton who turned 100 said she felt “fine” while celebrating with good music, food, and fellowship.

Braxton’s sister, Ms. Margaret Black, who turned 98 said it was a wonderful feeling to have family and friends gather to celebrate she and her sister’s birthday.

The pair gave us their secrets to living such long lives.

"Doing what's right," exclaimed Braxton.

"What's my secret? Doing right. I know I haven't done everything right, but I know I must've done something right! I'm still here," said Black.
