UPDATE: Parker H.S. student identified as 1 of the teens killed after car goes over cliff on Shades Crest Rd

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - The identities of two people who died Tuesday when the car they were in went over a cliff on Shades Crest Road have been released.

The Jefferson County Coroner identifies the victims as 17-year-old Yefry Said Hernandez-Paz and 15-year-old Griselda Noemi Zayas-Flores. One victim lived in the Forestdale area and the other lived in West Birmingham.

Birmingham City Schools has confirmed that Hernandez was a student Parker High School. Counselors are on-site at the school to assist students and staff members who are affected by this loss, according to a statement from Birmingham City Schools.

The accident happened across from Mr. P’s Deli.
