HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Today, High School Seniors from three different school systems spent time at the Senior Sprint Career fair.
They connected with local employers looking to hire straight out of high school.
Students talked to represenatives from several trade programs offering 2-year certificates and even on-the-job training.
“I had 3 interviews and I was only here an hour. So, I got a lot of opportunities open,” said Jaron Seals, Lee High School Senior.
“It’s given me a lot of extra opportunities and a lot of stuff to do right after I graduate from high school to go into the workforce,” said Michael Flynn, Mae Jemison High School Senior.
The job fair was brand new and the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce already has plans to expand it next year.
