HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A new senior center is coming to Hampton Cove.
Wellpoint Community is just about a year away from phase one completion.
The CEO of Charter Senior Living says plans are to have the first resident move in next May.
The facility will have independent living, assisted living and memory care housing.
There will also be amenities like a restaurant, beauty salon, sports bar and a fitness studio.
“Huntsville has tremendous demographics and is a very unique spot in this country. Ultimately, we do market studies to look at demand for our seniors in the next five, 10, 20 years. We know there will be a lot of demand with baby boomers but ultimately right now there is going to be a tremendous need for these services in this particular community,” said Charter Senior Living CEO Keven Bennema.
Wellpoint Community managers want the facility to become a destination for health and wellness for people all over the country and world in the coming years.
Phase two will include a medical office and health and wellness center. Phase three is a hotel. And the final phase is the creation of independent living villas.
