HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - University of Alabama in Huntsville men’s basketball coach Lennie Acuff has accepted the head coaching position at Lipscomb University.
Acuff made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Acuff led the Chargers for 22 seasons and posted a 437-214 record.
UAH advanced to the Gulf South Conference championship game in 2019. The Chargers lost to Delta State 64-60. UAH ended its season with a loss to Lynn at the NCAA South Regional.
“I want to thank everyone associated with UAH for giving me the opportunity to serve as the men’s basketball coach for the past 22 years,” Acuff said in a release published by UAH. “It has been an amazing journey, and I will cherish every moment that I was allowed to represent UAH. I hope that all the players who have worn the Charger uniform know how much they mean to me, and they have impacted my life in so many ways.”
Lipscomb, which is located in Nashville, competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference (Division I).
