Attorney withdraws from Huntsville murder case ahead of trial

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A Huntsville murder suspect set to go on trial next month may have his day in court pushed back. That’s because his attorney, Dan Totten, withdrew from the case.

A court filing states Totten withdrew because his client “failed to meet his financial obligations as agreed.”

Jaylun Demarcus White is charged in the shooting death of Carvell Goodlow. It happened last September at Westlake Apartments on Sparkman Drive.

Police say Goodlow was involved in a fight at a Texaco gas station near the complex. He was running home to Oakwood University, where he was a student, and cut through the apartment complex. Investigators say White thought Goodlow was someone else when he shot and killed him.
