GADSDEN, AL (WBRC) - Gadsden police are investigating an incident, in which a man walked into a women's room at the Gadsden Public Library and was caught peeping at a young girl.
It happened Tuesday afternoon, around 2:45, shortly after school let out.
Library director Craig Scott says his staff sprang into action, and began comforting the traumatized 12 year old.
"They didn't even come to me first, and I'm glad they didn't," Scott told WBRC.
One front desk worker pursued the man down the street and signaled for a passing police car. Police questioned the man but did not arrest him.
Thursday afternoon, Gadsden Police Sgt. John Hallman told WBRC there were no arrests, but police were still investigating.
Scott says his staff is trained for these situations.
"He did not touch her, as we understand. But, still, it's not right when she sees big shoes on the floor and then suddenly they disappear, and she happens to look up and somebody's looking down," said Scott.
Scott says in addition to a possible arrest, the man could be banned from the library.
