(WAFF) - We have a First Alert out for Saturday and Sunday this Palm Sunday weekend.
This system is still several days out and a lot can happen between now and Saturday. It is looking like widespread rain and storms could develop late Saturday afternoon and evening along a warm front. This will shift north into Sunday morning.
Overnight Saturday into Sunday we could end up in the warm sector of this storm system and the atmosphere could become unstable overnight into Sunday morning. Strong to severe storms would be possible given the forecast setup.
Make sure your action plan includes multiple ways to receive weather warnings and critical information: NOAA Weather Radio, WAFF First Alert WX App and television are a few.
Leading up to the weekend our warming trend will continue. Afternoon highs will be near 80 with morning lows around 50.
We have increasing clouds in the forecast late Thursday night ahead of a weakening line of storms. A few showers and storms with gusty winds are possible for the Friday morning commute.
We expect afternoon sun with highs in the middle 70s Friday.
Stay tuned for more details regarding this weekend weather threat.
