12-year-old killed in Hwy 157 crash in Lawrence County
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 157, eight miles north of Moulton in the Hatton community of Lawrence County.
LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Lawrence County Coroner Greg Randolph confirms that the 12-year-old killed in an early morning crash on Hwy 157 was named Jaylin Sutton. The coroner also says she was a special needs child.
Alabama State Troopers tell us the girl died in after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning.
Investigators tell us the crash happened at 12:56 a.m., and that the child was struck while crossing the roadway in front of a pickup truck. The coroner says her family did not know she had left the house.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 157, eight miles north of Moulton in the Hatton community of Lawrence County.
Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
