DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - City officials are working on a plan to provide an open WiFi service in downtown and beyond.

According to our partners at the Decatur Daily, city officials have $20,000 set aside for the project, but they’re not sure just how much money they’ll need until they decide which areas to cover.

Mayor Tab Bowling says adding WiFi downtown is a must for visitors and young professionals.

He hopes to eventually expand to public parks.
