HARTSELLE, AL (WAFF) - The Tigers are hoping to bounce back in 2018.
Head Coach Bob Godsey and his program are one of north Alabama’s best with 10 straight seasons of making the playoffs, including a state championship in 2011.
But the Tigers missed out on the postseason last season in a tough Class 6A Region 8. The goal is to get Hartselle back among the state’s elite.
“Just the maturity of our teams, being that we have 23 seniors, much more mature, which means physically as well as mentally, so leadership’s been good, that’s the most encouraging thing. The fact that most of these guys have been through the wars and kinda understand, or I hope they understand, what’s ahead of them. So hopefully, that means good things," said Godsey.
The Tigers are trying to get back to the postseason following their 10 straight years of reaching the playoffs before last season’s setback.
Things get started for the Tigers on Aug. 24 against Austin. This is now a nonregion game since Austin has moved to Class 7A.
