MADISON, AL (WAFF) - The Madison city council has voted unanimously to establish a disability board. The board will look at how the city can improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and their family.
Advocates say some of the ways they can improve services for the disabled include getting a grant or donations, and creating new programs or expanding existing ones. They say some of the things the city needs to work on include assisted living, group homes, transportation and jobs.
The city will be taking applications for those who want to serve on the board over the next couple of weeks.
