Judge sentences 5 in slaying of Vinemont man

DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - A Morgan County circuit judge has sentenced four men and a woman who were involved in the beating death of a Vinemont man whose body was found dumped in a north Alabama ravine.

The judge sentenced 37-year-old Stephen Lynn Woodall of Vinemont to life in prison Monday on his guilty plea to a murder charge in the 2006 death of 41-year-old Keith Edwards Sullins.

Arvil Lee Townson, a 22-year-old from Huntsville, also pleaded guilty to murder and received 20 years.

The other three pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution and received five years each.

They are 32-year-old Christopher Allen Hogan of Falkville, 20-year-old Cheston Jared Campbell of Somerville and 34-year-old Selena Michelle Kelley of Vinemont.

Prosecutors said they believe Sullins was killed over a drug debt.
