Vols Cornerback Vinson Suspended

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer says cornerback Brent Vinson has been suspended a second time this season.

Fulmer announced Thursday at the Vols' practice that Vinson will sit out Saturday night against South Carolina for an unspecified violation of team rules.

The 6'0", 190 lb. sophomore was also suspended for Tennessee's season opener at UCLA on September 1 for an unspecified academic problem.

Vinson splits time with starting cornerbacks DeAngelo Willingham and Dennis Rogan, and his absence will leave Tennessee especially thin in the secondary.
