When Lauderdale County residents make a can donation to the WAFF 48 Heart of the Valley Can-a-thon your donation goes directly to Loaves and Fishes, a well-respected food pantry program in the Shoals.
Loaves and Fishes feeds people that qualify for assistance and serve hundreds of families each month. By making a donation to the Heart of the Valley Can-a-thon, you can be sure that your donation helps people in your community.
When is the WAFF 48 Heart of the Valley Can-a-thon?
The WAFF 48 Heart of the Valley Can-a-thon is Thursday, December 6. There are twelve counties in North Alabama participating in the event including Lauderdale County.
How can I make a donation?
Everyone is encouraged to bring a donation by the Big Lots parking lot between the Courier Journal and Foodland on Darby Drive in Florence on December 6. Many donations are made by schools, offices and churches that have held their own can drives in the weeks and months leading up to the WAFF 48 Heart of the Valley Can-a-thon. On December 6, they deliver their entire can collection to the Big Lots parking lot to donate it to the Can-a-thon.
Before December 6, donations can be dropped off at Five Guys on Florence Blvd. and Bentley of Florence at 1950 Florence Blvd.
