MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - With oil prices in a downward spiral, the cost of gasoline in Alabama is a bit cheaper on Monday - two cents less than Sunday's prices.
According to AAA's daily fuel gauge report, the Alabama average for a gallon of regular is $3.66.
That's still higher than a month ago, when regular gas averaged $3.60 in the state.
Nationally, regular fuel averaged $3.50 a gallon.
The statewide average for midgrade is $3.83 and premium cost $3.94.
A survey of metro areas finds Birmingham with the highest average for regular at $3.72 a gallon.
The cheapest was found in Mobile at $3.52. On Monday, crude fell to an 8-month low below $90 a barrel.
