3 Ohio teens in custody after Alabama chase

GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - Three Ohio teenagers are in custody in Alabama after they fled from Etowah County deputies and later rammed two patrol cars ending a 30-minute chase.

Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin said a 16-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl were charged with receiving stolen property.

The driver also faces reckless endangerment and criminal mischief charges.

Their names were not released because of their juvenile status.

Investigator Jeff Hopper said the teens allegedly stole a car in Jackson, Ohio before heading to Alabama to meet a boy that the 15-year-old girl met on the Internet.

The teens allegedly stole another vehicle in Priceville in north Alabama on Sunday.

The pursuit started at about 1 a.m. Monday after the boy didn't stop at a driver's license checkpoint.

The pursuit ended in Attalla.

The teens were taken to a juvenile holding facility in Anniston.
