Nationally Recognized Wildlife Art Show & Sale Set For October 18 & 19 in Decatur
Decatur, Ala. - Some of America's premiere wildlife artists and photographers will assemble at the Carlton B. Kelley Gymnasium on the campus of Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama for the 27th Annual Southern Wildlife Festival. Set for October 18-19, the Southern Wildlife Festival is an exposition and sale of wildlife and nature-related original sculptures, original paintings, photographs, jewelry and apparel.
Artwork categories on display include waterfowl, upland game birds, wildlife and birds of prey. Ribbons and prizes are awarded for both amateur and professional photography entries and Best of Show and other ribbons are awarded for entries in the carving and painting categories. In addition to wildlife paintings, carvings and photography, a special "Kids Gone Wild" section will be available where children can make their own bird feeders and wildlife art.
Ongoing seminars and live demonstrations will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Show hours are Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $3 adults, $2 senior citizens (65 years and older), $2 students, and children under 6 years old are admitted free. A private VIP reception by invitation only is held on Friday evening, October 17.
