Monday, July 28, 2008 marked the three-year anniversary of an unsolved murder in DeKalb County.

The victim's family is reaching out to the public to come forward with information.

After three years, Patricia Baugh still waits by the phone hoping to hear the news that her son's killer is found.

"I want justice," she said during an interview at her Sylvania home.

"I want someone to be able to answer for what they did. They took away my granddaughters' daddy, they took away my son, they took away a part of my life."

Baugh's son, 38-year-old Jerry Wayne Gibson, was found dead on July 28, 2005.

He'd been shot several times and his body was found just off County Road 19 in Section.

"They brutally murdered him," Baugh said. "He was shot several times. And it's just hard to get over it."

Gibson has been laid to rest here in DeKalb County, but his mother says she won't rest until those responsible for her son's murder are brought to justice.

"Jerry, son I love you. And there ain't nothing that I wouldn't do to help you if I could," Baugh said in a message to her son. "And I miss him."

A $10,000 reward is still being offered in this unsolved murder.
