(HUNTSVILLE) - With the departure of Matt LaPorta to the Cleveland Indians' organization, the Huntsville Stars' vacancy in right field is expected to be filled Monday, with the promotion of Brevard County outfielder Lorenzo Cain.
Cain's promotion was confirmed by brewerfan.net.
Cain, who has already played in six games for Class AAA-Nashville (PCL), is hitting .287 for the Manatees with 22 doubles, 4 triples, and 7 home runs. He is 5th among Florida State League stolen base leaders with 19 and has been caught stealing just four times.
The Valdosta, Georgia-born right-handed hitter is hitting .385 in his last 10 games for Brevard.
With the departure of LaPorta and the addition of Cain, the Huntsville Stars roster will be at 28 players, with one on suspension and four on the disabled list -- infielders Chris Errecart and Guilder Rodriguez, and pitchers Robert Hinton and Derek Miller.
