Kevin Swider to Return to Knoxville for 7th Season

(KNOXVILLE) - Knoxville Ice Bears forward Kevin Swider has re-signed for a 7th season with the reigning SPHL champs.

The Livonia, Michigan native led the SPHL last year in goals (38), assists (60), points (98), was 6th in shots (200), and 4th in successful shot percentage (.198).

Swider started his professional hockey career in the UHL after finishing his collegiate career at Ferris State. He played a year in three other leagues, including the ECHL before joining the Ice Bears in 2003.

Named team captain in 2006, he has played in 266 games for Knoxville, scored 183 goals, and assisted on 299 others.

Swider has led the SPHL in scoring in each of the league's four seasons.

THE HOCKEY NEWS 60th Anniversary Issue listed Swider as the #1 player in the league.

Knoxville won the SPHL Championship last April, by beating the Jacksonville Barracudas in three games.
