Truck Driver

Drive a truck or van with a capacity of under 26,000 GVW, primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise or to deliver packages within a specified area. May require use of automatic routing or location software. May load and unload truck.  CDL is generally required; however, Alabama JobLink has 11 jobs not requiring CDL and 30 that do in the North Alabama area.

Truck Driver positions may or may not require a high school diploma or GED.  Because there is such a diversity of the type of truck driving performed (hauling distance and type of truck to be operated), the amount of experience required, and whether the position requires a CDL, directly impacts the range of pay.

Security

Guard patrol or protect premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.

Unarmed Security Guard positions may or may not require a high school diploma or GED.

Rate of pay generally ranges $8 to $10 per hour.

Warehouse Worker

Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.  Keep records and compile stock reports.

Currently, the warehouse worker positions on AJL have a high school requirement/GED; however, this is not always be the case.

Rate of pay ranges, in general, $7.00 to $9.50 per hour.
