(HUNTSVILLE) - Huntsville Havoc head coach, Eric Soltys went to the ranks of the CHL, his former playground, to sign former UAH Charger, Keith Rowe.
Rowe (5'11", 190) played in 130 games at UAH from 2001-2005. He scored 20 goals and recorded 26 assists to go along with 196 penalty minutes. He was teammates with Havoc forward Craig Bushey and newly signed defenseman, Jeff Winchester.
Rowe went straight from UAH to the CHL Playoffs in 2005, playing in 7 games for the Amarillo Gorillas, scoring one goal and assisting on five others.
He returned to play for Amarillo the next three seasons, playing in 187 games, scoring 28 goals, recording 52 assists and 318 penalty minutes. Last season, he was captain, giving Soltys the kind of leadership experience he desires.
Soltys said, "I'm excited because he's one of those players that you love to have on your team, but you hate to play against."
Rowe will graduate this summer from UAH with a degree in Marketing.
