Fourth Honor Flight a success

Fourth Honor Flight a success

The Fourth Tennessee Valley Honor Flight just returned home from Washington, D.C.

On Saturday, 124 veterans saw their memorial at our nation's Capitol. Early Saturday morning, Huntsville International Airport was crowded with anxious veterans.

Veteran Bill Denmen gots his camera ready as he waited to board the plane and reminisced about his memories.

"I think about some of the people I knew and worked with. That I haven't seen since I left Okinawa, and wonder what happened to them. We lost touch and I'll be thinking about them," said Denmen.

The goal of the Tennessee Valley Honor Flight is to honor all veterans who fill out an application.

Be sure to join us for WAFF 48 News Late Edition Sunday night. We'll sit down with some of these hometown heroes for much more on today's Honor Flight.
