Former UAH Goalie Makes it to the NHL

(PHILADELPHIA) - Former UAH goaltender Scott Munroe was recalled by the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers for their playoff drive against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals is tonight at the Wachovia Center.

Munroe, called up as a third-stringer, was scratched for Game 2.

Munroe led the AHL Philadelphia Phantoms to the Eastern Division finals. Munroe was called up by the Flyers after the Phantoms lost a 3-1 series to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last Friday. The Phantoms finished the season in 2nd place in the East at 46-27.

Munroe finished 8th among AHL goalies in Goals Against Average (2.22) in the playoffs. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native finished with a record of 18-8 during the regular season, his 3rd with Philadelphia.

Munroe played for the UAH Chargers from 2002-2006 before starting his professional career in the AHL with Philadelphia in 2005.
