(NASHVILLE) - Second baseman-outfielder Hernan Iribarren, who helped lead the Huntsville Stars to a Northern division title in the Southern League last year, is with the Milwaukee Brewers today, after his promotion from Class AAA - Nashville (PCL) Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old reached base safely in 6 of Nashville's first 7 games, batting .348 (8-for-23) over that stretch.
Iribarren will make his Major League debut upon his first appearance with the Brewers.
He takes the roster spot of former Huntsville outfielder Tony Gwynn, Jr., who was placed on the Brewers' 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
To fill Iribarren's roster spot in Nashville, pitcher Richie Gardner has been activated from the Sounds' disabled list.
Iribarren hit .307 in 124 games for the Huntsville Stars last year and led the Southern League with 12 triples.
