Brendan Katin Hits 2 HRs, Knocks in 6 in 17-3 Brewer Pounding

(PEORIA, Arizona) -- Former Huntsville Stars outfielder Brendan Katin doubled twice, hit 2 home runs and drove in 6 as the Brewers pounded the Mariners, 17-3, in Cactus League play in Arizona.

The Brewers are 14-6 this spring.

Catcher Eric Munson added a home run and 3 RBIs in the offensive onslaught and Corey Hart added a pair of hits and 2 RBIs.

Left-handed starter Chris Capuano departed in the 4th inning after experiencing tightness in his left elbow. Chris Narveson tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, striking out four, followed by former Stars pitcher Steve Bray with two scoreless innings, which lowered his spring ERA to 1.13.

First baseman Richie Sexson continued his hot hitting for the Mariners, with his 2nd home run and a single. He is now 11-for-37 this spring. Former Diamond Jaxx outfielder Wladimir Balentien hit his team-high 3rd home run on the first pitch off Capuano after Sexson's home run. Mike Morse and Matt Tuiasosopo each had a double.

Tuesday, the Brewers play the Angels in Tempe.
