Antonio Lawshawn Drake, 21, has been charged in U.S. District Court, with bank robbery of the North Alabama Bank in Madison County.
The indictment was announced Wednesday by U.S. Attorney, Alice H. Martin and Special Agent in Charge, Carmen S. Adams, Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities say Drake went into the bank with a weapon and took approximately $9,438.00 in cash.
He was arrested shortly after the robbery by an Alabama State Trooper.
Drake remains in police custody. "This young man now faces twenty-five years in prison," stated U.S. Attorney Alice H. Martin "Robbing a bank is a quick ticket to a prison cell." The case was investigated by Federal Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the Alabama State Troopers and local law enforcement.
