A former Pastor turned Prophet has been arrested for sodomy and sexual abuse.

His victim: a young girl.

WAFF 48 Investigator Robyn McGlohn spoke with the victim's family today; what they have to say in this WAFF 48 Investigator's Report.

An empty building and a for lease sign, it's all that's left of The Prophetic Place.

A ministry that preached the word of God, a minister who's now behind bars.

Fifty year old Vanskie Montaie was arrested February 14th and charged with six counts of sodomy and two counts of sexual abuse.

His victim a young female whose family attended his ministry.

Her family tells me The Prophetic Place is a non-denominational five fold ministry, and Montaie was once the pastor.

The ministry was made up of about 50 people and they held Prophetic meetings three days a week.

Then just a year ago, Montaie moved to Ohio with his wife after he was promoted to a Prophet in a different ministry.

The family says they are saddened by his actions and say "They know Montaie as a Prophet, but not as the man who touched our daughter."

In a 2006 Huntsville City Council meeting, Montaie and his wife, Prophetess Janell Montaie were recognized as honorary citizens of the city.

Now the self proclaimed Prophet is recognized as a sexual predator sitting behind bars.
