(OAKLAND CITY, IND.) - UAH head coach Lennie Acuff won his 300th career game, Monday night, as his red-hot Chargers won their 4th straight, whipping Oakland City on the road, 70-53, Monday night.
Tyler Dunaway scored 17 points, including 3 three-pointers, to lead UAH (11-9). Hazel Green star Casey Stafford added 16 points, while Kael Coleman chipped in with 11.
The Chargers made up for 43% shooting from the field by their sharpshooting accuracy from the free-throw line, where they were 15-of-18.
The Chargers cruised into halftime with a 42-24 advantage. Oakland City had a better 2nd half, but they closest they would get is 51-42 with 8:45 left. A 3-pointer by Coleman quickly got the Chargers back up by double digits and they were never seriously threatened again.
Oakland City (13-7), which shot just 32% from the floor, was led by Josh Wilmes who scored a game-high 21 points.
The Chargers host West Georgia on Saturday in a battle for first place in the GSC East.
The UAH women blew a 7-point lead in the final two minutes to lose to Oakland City in the opener, 76-75.
