(HUNTSVILLE) - After signing two new forwards earlier this week, the Huntsville Havoc have signed Huntsville native Troy Maney, following the promotion of Justin Schmit to the Central Hockey League.
Maney, who played high school hockey at Sparkman, was the first product of the Huntsville Amateur Hockey Association to play for the UAH Chargers. The defenseman played in 19 games for the Chargers from 2003-2007.
More recently, Maney played in 73 games for the Capital City Pride and Grand Rapids Owls of the USHL. He attended training camp with the Havoc earlier this season.
Maney replaces another defenseman.
Schmit, who started this season with the CHL's Rocky Mountain Rage, was called up by the Tulsa Oilers, currently at the bottom of the standings in the Northwest Division.
Schmit played in 15 games with the Havoc and scored one goal and recorded two assists.
Earlier this week, the Havoc signed forwards Tristan Fairbarn and Greg Hargett.
