(FLORENCE) - Andrew Chesney, making just his 2nd start, scored 9 of his 13 points in a five-minute span late in the first half, to spark the UNA Lions to a 99-84 win over Harding, Thursday night at Flowers Hall.
The win, avenging an earlier 88-85 loss on the road earlier in the season, gives the Lions a 10-5 record.
Chesney contributed to a 13-3 run that gave the Lions a 43-30 halftime advantage.
Casey Holt scored 11 points in the first three minutes of the second half to help stretch their lead to 65-39.
UNA led by as many as 27 points, 72-45, after Thomas Morris converted a three-point play with 12:05 to go.
Quinn Beckwith, off the bench, led UNA and all scorers with 23 points. Beckwith was playing in just his second game since returning from a broken hand. Four other Lions, including Chesney, reached double digits.
Harding star Matt Hall, the Gulf South Conference's leading scorer, scored just two points in the 1st half and finished with 13 points.
Harding cut the margin to 11 late, but could get no closer.
