(HUNTSVILLE) - Matt Carmichael stopped 32 of 33 shots and Bill McCreary's two assists helped the Huntsville Havoc stop the Jacksonville Barracudas, 3-1, before an announced 4,604 fans on another trading card night at the VBC, Friday.
The win, their 2nd straight, evened Huntsville's record at 9-9, as they remain in the SPHL cellar with Richmond, which plays Columbus, Saturday night.
Dan Buccella put the Havoc on the board at 11:14 in the 1st period, then Craig Bushey added the deciding goal at 16:27 with McCreary and Travis Kauffeldt on the assist.
The Havoc stretched their lead to 3-0 when McCreary passed to James Patterson, who made a nifty crossover move to score on Ryan Person at 8:05 of the 2nd period.
Person took 30 shots on goal.
Chris Geerlinks made Jacksonville's lone goal on the powerplay late in the 3rd period.
Huntsville was 1-of-2 on the powerplay while Jacksonville was 1-of-5. The Havoc will return to the Von Braun Center on Thursday, January 3 against the Richmond Renegades.
