(SAN DIEGO) - According to reports in the San Diego Tribune, former UAH standout pitcher Adam Bass has signed a contract with the San Diego Padres.
Bass, who played his high school ball at Madison Academy, pitched in the Southern League for the Tennessee Smokies in 2005 and 2006, going 7-13 in a combined 36 starts. He posted a 3-1 record and 2.16 ERA for the Arizona Diamondbacks' top farm team, the Tucson (PCL) Toros, last year.
The Padres lured Bass from the Japanese ranks, where he was prepared to pitch for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.
Bass is the all-time leader at UAH in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts and games started.
